Rainbow Family Daycare is...
a safe, fun atmosphere for children ages 18 months to 5 years old. We offer both full time and part time slots. Hours of operation are 7:30am - 5pm, Monday - Thursday. We are closed on Fridays.
Rainbow Family Daycare has been operating for over 3 decades. It resides on the first floor of a residential home in Swampscott, MA. The house was originally the site of a small grocery market, but in 1981 when I purchased the home, I converted the market into a licensed Large Family Daycare. With my credentials and the space being a separate entity from the household, Rainbow is able to function as a pre-school. It makes for the perfect blend for parents and children looking for a pre-school environment with a homey feeling.
Rainbow services between fifteen and twenty-five children each year, with excellent teacher/student ratio ranging from 10:2 to 6:1. There are three programs offered: morning, afternoon and full day. These programs are set in a nursery school fashion, incorporating academics, as well as, social, emotional, and physical development within the curriculum. The curriculum is set to service the needs of the children at their various ages and abilities. Each child is nurtured to their fullest potential.
I have had the privilege of watching over 500 children grow into beautiful people, and have even been blessed with the ability of now watching their children grow! :)
A few Fun Events
Brooksby Farm is one of
the many field trips we enjoy. We have fun feeding the animals, taking a hay ride into the orchards to pick apples and snacking on apple donuts and cider.
Thanksgiving Day Feast is held on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. The children study about the pilgrims and indians, giving thanks and food groups. They dress as pilgrims and indians and host a full Thanksgiving feast (turkey included), to all the parents who can attend.
Holiday party. Rainbow will host a holiday party in December. There will be treats, a grab bag gift exchange and a special visit from Santa!
Even if your child does not attend Rainbow on these special days, all are welcomed.
